Gray Cells: Interactive Brain Games for Seniors

If you've ever lost your keys or forgotten someone's name, you'll understand how frustrating it is to have a brain"blip." One of the best ways to prevent these slips is by exercising our body's most important organ, the brain. That's where Gray Cells comes in.

Our research-based brain games programs are designed to help clear the proverbial cobwebs from our cerebrums and get things moving. By keeping our noggins active, we can help ward off, or at least delay, debilitating diseases like dementia and Alzheimer's.

What is Gray Cells?

60 minutes of non-stop fun

Our interactive games last an hour and challenge seniors to interact with their peers and stimulate their minds by answering unique questions, remembering a word of the day, learning new trivia facts, and recognizing famous faces, among other interesting activities.

Group sessions in assisted living facilities

Being lonely and isolated increases the risk of dementia, which is why we love providing programs to residents of assisted living facilities. That old adage, "the more the merrier" is definitely true when it comes to engaging our brains in fun and interactive ways.

Personalized at-home sessions

If you or your loved one has trouble getting out, no worries! We visit homes across Southern Connecticut to deliver personalized programs for anyone who's looking to challenge their gray cells.

Who Needs Gray Cells?

We ALL do! By 2040 more than 80 million Americans will be over 65.  Over 10 percent of them will develop dementia. Our games can help ensure we're keeping our brains active. As the saying goes, "use it or lose it."

Our mission

Our goal is to promote cognitive health and emotional well-being in older adults through engaging, research-informed brain games that foster mental stimulation and social connection. We empower seniors to stay sharp, connected, and confident as they strengthen their minds together, all while having a great time.

What sets us apart?

Love, devotion, and first-hand knowledge. Our CEO  lost her father to Alzheimer's Disease in 2024. It was through her many visits with him and other assisted living residents that she learned the importance of intriguing social interactions with seniors. She developed Gray Cells so she could give back to the community and engage with seniors looking for mental stimulation served with a side of laughter.

In-home visits

Our team visits private homes in Southern Connecticut, delivering brain-stimulating activities straight to your living room.

Multiple locations served in CT

We travel to assisted living communities throughout Southern Connecticut.

What our clients say

No two sessions are ever the same and I love challenging myself to remember words I haven't used in ages. I learn something new each time Shandley visits. I look forward to Gray Cells because the programs always make me laugh.

Mary

Assisted Living Community resident

Our residents absolutely love Shandley McMurray Brown's program! Gray Cells makes brain exercise so much fun with trivia, music, photos, and historic pop culture that brings back great memories. We've seen even our quietest residents get engaged and shout out answers. It's a wonderful program that truly stimulates and delights our seniors.
